Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Sesane's 2024/25 season was a story of redemption, marked by a difficult beginning and an unfortunate end.
His campaign got off to a turbulent start with a stunning 3-2 defeat to Magesi in the Carling Knockout. Recently returned from a loan spell, Sesane found himself at the center of criticism, a burden he revealed he carried heavily.
In an episode of the team's docu-series, “Giants,” he shared that he felt responsible for the loss and was deeply affected by the negative reactions that followed.
Yet, from this low point, Sesane mounted an incredible comeback. He transformed into one of the country's most formidable centre-backs, making 29 appearances and becoming a vital pillar of the team's defense.
Sadly, his remarkable season was cut short by a serious Achilles tendon rupture in February, but his impact and resilience during the campaign were undeniable.

SESANE ON POOR DISPLAY AGAINST MAGESI
“I felt like I was the one who caused the team to lose, and it is true,” Sesane reflected.
“Like you (Happy Jele) said, sometimes you have to leave the house and take a walk, walk around. But I can't. The kids follow me around. So my life is just gym, home, gym, home.
“But sometimes I will go outside and just hang out.
“Obviously, I live at home, so anyone who wants to find me, can find me. The old lady opens for them, but the old lady doesn't understand [the fame].
“She assumes they are just concerned about me and lets them in (laughs).”
