Orlando Pirates loanee Siphelo Baloni is confident of making a mark once he completes his loan spell at Chippa United.

The midfielder joined the Sea Robbers from the now-defunct Cape Town All Stars in July 2023. In his debut season, he made 13 appearances for the Soweto Giants before being loaned out to the Chilli Boys at the start of the 2024/25 edition.

Pirates have since excelled in the Premier Soccer League where they have won a club-record seven consecutive matches that have put them top of the table with maximum points.

The 25-year-old has also delivered at Chippa United; he has a goal and an assist in the six league games he has played.

“I just need to collect all the information that I need in football, that’s all I can say to you,” he told iDiski Times.

“I just need to gain experience, get some game-time, and then after some years I will be someone else. I don’t like to mention other people’s names because I can also be Thembinkosi Lorch in the next two years, or not, or Teboho Mokoena.

“But I like to say that I can be someone else. All the Thembinkosi Lorch, Mshishi [Themba Zwane], I am talking about the best players, Teboho Mokoena, [Bathusi] Aubaas is also there, [Kamohelo] Mokotjo.

“I am talking about people who are playing in the middle. Those players have experienced some challenges in their journey. Now is our time to face those challenges and we still have time to enjoy football,” Baloni concluded.

Whether Baloni will make Pirates team in the future or not is a matter of time.
