Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has given his thoughts on the 2-1 defeat they suffered against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby in the Betway Premiership.
Amakhosi went ahead in the first half courtesy of Glody Lilepo, but the Buccaneers responded through Evidence Makgopa.
Ultimately, it was Relebohile Mofokeng who secured the three points for Ezimnyama Ngenkani with a second-half strike.
Following the loss to Pirates, Nabi was asked about Chiefs' tendency to squander leads, pointing to the previous week's match against Marumo Gallants where they also opened the scoring but went on to lose.
When asked if this indicated a psychological weakness, Nabi firmly stated it wasn't and that they had simply easily given away the game to Pirates.

NABI ON HIS VERDICT ON LOSS AGAINST PIRATES
“I don’t think it’s a psychological thing [losing after scoring first] because in that game [against Marumo Gallants] when we were leading 1-0, I think there was a clear penalty [that should have been given Chiefs],” said Nabi.
“Probably, if we were given that penalty, the game was gonna be completely different.
“And it was the individual mistakes that gave the opportunities to the opponents. We think today’s result is a gift to the opponents.”
Nabi stated that his troops should have wrapped up the match early when his side was on the front foot.
“We came in the game very well, we scored early and we had an opportunity to keep going and create more chances and score even more,” said Nabi in the post-match interview with SuperSport TV.
“But we didn’t do that and when we were [leading], we conceded the goal from nowhere. In our best moment, we didn’t kill the game.
“After that, they were in their best moment, they took the game and capitalised in their best moment.”
