Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have been restructuring their squad in preparation for the 2025/26 season.

Despite winning the Nedbank Cup which ended their decade-long trophy drought, the Glamour Boys struggled to deliver in the Premier Soccer League. They managed just eight wins, as many draws, and 12 losses to finish ninth on the table, which saw them fail to qualify for the MTN8 for a second year running.

Following their qualification for the Caf Confederation Cup, coach Nasreddine Nabi and the club's management have admitted in unison that quality players are needed.

After announcing the exit of Njabulo Blom a couple of day ago, Amakhosi have now opted to part ways with Ranga Chivaviro who has failed to live per expectations since joining from Marumo Gallants two seasons ago.

What have Chiefs decided on Chivaviro?

“Kaizer Chiefs will not be extending striker Ranga Chivaviro's contract when it expires at the end of the month,” the club confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

“The Limpopo-born attacker joined Amakhosi from Marumo Gallants in the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal. He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 official matches wearing Chiefs colours over two seasons.

“We thank Ranga for his positive contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future exploits.”

The 32-year-old joined Chiefs after a stellar season at Gallants where he scored 17 goals in 30 games, as his former team went to reached the semi-final of the Caf Confederation Cup. More exits are expected from Naturena in the next couple of days.
