Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly appointed attorneys to represent them in a case where a woman is seeking R11 million in damages.
Chiefs are among four defendants, the others being Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA), the Premier Soccer League (PSL), and the Minister of Police, who have been sued by a woman who sustained injuries at the FNB Stadium last year.
According to KickOff, the woman allegedly sustained injuries during a stampede at the FBB Stadium during Chiefs’ Premier Soccer League match against Sekhukhune United on September 16, 2025.

She is reported to have received emergency treatment before being referred to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and she is now seeking a total of R11 million in damages following the incident.
“Chiefs have just appointed attorneys. We are waiting for their attorneys to file the plea/opposing papers,” a law firm representing the woman told KickOff.
Maboe injury leaves Amakhosi sweating
Kaizer Chiefs are sweating over the situation of midfielder Lebohang Maboe who suffered an injury just before the international break.
Maboe pulled up during Chiefs’ goalless draw with Golden Arrows, just before the international break, and although he joined the Bafana Bafana camp, he was not included in the team after tests showed that he had an ankle injury.

It adds to Chiefs’ long injury list but what has not been revealed is how long the experienced midfielder will be out for.
Maboe has been one of the outstanding players for Chiefs since he joined the club ahead of last season and continued to impress under coach Fernando da Cruz this term.
With key matches against Stellenbosch and CAF Confederation Cup clashes against Zambian side Red Arrows before the Soweto Derby comes up, Chiefs will hope that Maboe is not out for long.
