Kaizer Chiefs respond to Gabadinho Mhango transfer links

Kaizer Chiefs have offered a brutal response to a claim that striker Gabadinho Mhango was on the club’s radar.

Mhango has reportedly joined Richards Bay after leaving Marumo Gallants and according to Rwandan journalist Eric Ndagijimana, he was also one of the players Chiefs were interested in.

While reporting the striker’s latest move, Ndagijimana seemed to suggest that Chiefs missed out again on one of their targets but the club took exception with that comment.

Ghabadinho Mhango.

“Ghabadinho Mhango has signed with Richards Bay and already training with the club. Chiefs have missed out again,” he posted on X.

How did Chiefs respond to Mhango links?

However, Chiefs offered a quick and brutal response to the journalist, asking: “Did you offer him to us?”

Chiefs have been busy in the market looking for attacking reinforcements and a lot of players have been linked to the club although Mhango’s name has not featured prominently.

Chiefs are reported to have already signed strikers Etiosa Ighodaro and Flavio Silva ahead of the new season and they are set to join the team’s pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

Mhango is a well-travelled striker who has so far played for seven clubs in South Africa and looks set for his eighth team in the country after managing five goals and one assist in 25 for Gallants last season.

Chiefs have been struggling for goals in recent years with none of their strikers impressing, necessitating fresh additions in the department as the Glamour Boys look to improve on their ninth-place finish of last season.
