PSL Awards: ‘Daylight robbery, POTY is for Kaizer Chiefs’ Mduduzi Shabalala!’

Orlando Pirates dominated the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League Awards Gala, winning almost everything on offer beating Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs in the process.

Relebohile Mofokeng won the Player of the Year Award after his exemplary performance. Masandawana and Amakhosi finished second and third respectively in the league, but it wasn’t enough to see them get rewarded.

Appollis and our new Haaland to collect them again?

Orlando Pirates brought back dignity to these awards because we’ve seen them being won by Teboho Mokoena with a goal and an assist – Mjabuli Sjava 

As Sundowns, we don’t need these awards. We will collect them in CAF. As things stand, Pirates took their father’s league, and Sundowns took their father’s Champions League. Respectfully though, if Oswin Appollis can win the midfielder of the year, then I am sure Lucas Ribeiro should have won last year instead of Makhehlene Makhaula, but yeah – Gaby Sitoe
