Kaizer Chiefs are close to securing the services of Bafana Bafana international winger Elias Mokwana to strengthen the attacking department.

The 27-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Esperance de Tunis who he had joined from Sekhukhune United. The Glamour Boys wanted to bring him to Naturena Village but the Tunisian heavyweights pounced on the versatile attacker.

Last season, Mokwana played for the Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Hazem albeit on loan from Esperance and scored four goals for them. He was, however, let go by the North Africans who deemed him surplus to requirements.

His deal with Esperance was running until June 2027, nevertheless, an amicable solution was reached with the involved parties making the player a free agent.
