Magesi FC coach Owen Da Gama believes he's found a weakness in Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their Betway Premiership match.
Da Gama, whose Dikwena tša Meetse side will play Amakhosi at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, highlighted Chiefs' vulnerability at full-back due to inconsistent selection.
While acknowledging the “wounded” Chiefs will be dangerous after two straight defeats, Da Gama feels Magesi can exploit this defensive instability as they aim to build on their recent victory.
Chiefs, meanwhile, will be seeking a strong response to their losing streak. The match is scheduled for a 19:30 kickoff on Tuesday, March 4th.
DA GAMA ON CHIEFS’ WEAK POINT
“Remember, we played against SuperSport in the cup and gave other players a chance, so over the weekend we had a very good idea of how they play,” said Da Gama as quoted by KickOff.
“The technical team planned very thoroughly. We didn't allow any crosses or penetration.
“But that's not the approach we're going to take against Kaizer Chiefs because they are a different kettle of fish. They have some very dangerous players, and we need to plan accordingly.
“Chiefs are wounded, and teams like that are very hard to play against. A team that has just lost two games is always going to be a tough opponent. But we will fight until the end.
“They have played well against Sundowns, but there's inconsistency in some of their positions, particularly the left-back position. They have used three different players there, Bradley Cross, Happy Mashiane, and Njabulo Blom. Now they have Edmilson Dove.
“So, I assume Dove will be the one playing tonight. To be honest, we will be happy with anything – a draw or a win.”
