Sundowns vs Chiefs wasn’t football!

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso was left unhappy with the level of officiating in the 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday night.

The result gave Orlando Pirates a massive advantage with two rounds remaining to end the season.

“Let’s just think about what happened in Pirates match with Kaizer Chiefs – today again. Two broken shoulders, it was a fight that the referee has obligation to control,” he told the media.

“This is not the football we want to be played and to be officiated. Referees must prepare for the match, do their homework, so they know what they come for.

“Control the game. Cause now we have players in hospital, shoulders broken, arm broken… Come on who is controlling this? “Control the match in a proper way,” the tactician concluded.

Cardoso opens up on emotional PSL fixture

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso reflected on his side’s 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs in their Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday night, describing the encounter as a highly emotional affair from start to finish.

Sundowns vs Chiefs was a big fight! Real battle

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef was full of praise for the players following their 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday night.

“I think it was a real battle today; it was a big fight. I think we showed because there is a lot of fight outside about this game. We showed that we’re playing for our team, we showed that we are managing every game as a cup game, we fight for every game,” Youssef said after the game.

“I think the first half, we managed very well the game, we scored the first goal. In the second half, when we started the second half it wasn’t very good so we conceded the first goal, then you saw in the last minute of the second half we created some opportunities and was close to score.

“I think both teams deserved one point in this game, for us we have to continue to fight. We still have three games, Sekhukhune, AmaZulu and Chippa. We have continued to fight to get maximum of the points.”
