The defending CAF Champions League champions Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the exit of a key player.

So far, Masandawana have lost Peter Shalulile (Released), Jayden Adams (Deceased), Terrence Mashego (Stellenbosch, Loan), Thapelo Maseko (FC Copenhagen, Denmark), and Thato Sibiya (Lille, France).

The Brazilians strengthened with the arrival of Antonio van Wyk (SV Ried, Austria), Siyanda Ndlovu (Golden Arrows), Ricardo Goss (return from Loan), and Cassius Mailula.

On Friday, the Miguel Cardoso-led team announced they have parted ways with Miguel Reisinho: “We are grateful for your time, effort, and commitment in Yellow, and we wish you nothing but success ahead,” they stated.

Reisinho’s Sundowns story

The 27-year-old joined Masandawana at the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign alongside Nuno Santos. The duo was meant to help the team dominate domestically and in the CAF competitions.

Nevertheless, while Santos delivered, Reisinho struggled to settle and ended up playing 14 games across all competitions.

He found the back of the net twice and made one assist, as Teboho Mokoena, the late Jayden Adams, and Marcello Allende dominated the midfield.

It is interesting to see who the club will bring in as they prepare to bring their ‘A’ game in Mzansi and in the CAF Champions League.

Ndlovu ready for Arrows’ test

Meanwhile, Siyanda Ndlovu is optimistic about eliminating Golden Arrows from the MTN8 on Sunday. Masandawana fell by a solitary goal in the first leg of the semi-final at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

“I think it’s a big game that won’t be easy, but what we can promise to the fans is that we will fight as much as we can,” Ndlovu told the Sundowns media team.

“I think we need to score as many goals as we can. That will really help us come out with the desired result,” he added.
