Masindi Nemtajela: Contract details revealed for Orlando Pirates’ new signing

Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of midfielder Masindi Nemtajela who is set to be unveiled after agreeing a terms from Marumo Gallants.

The midfielder is set to bolster the midfield ranks for the Buccaneers under the new coach that will succeed Jose Riveiro along with Stellenbosch’s Sihle Nduli, who is reported to be edging closer to linking up with the Sea Robbers.

This comes hot on the heels of reports that Pirates are set to part ways with Miguel Timm, while Philip Ndlondlo is coming to the end of his contract, which will open up space for the new recruits.

As per iDiski Times, Nemtajela has agreed a three-year contract with Pirates with the club having the option to extend it for a further year.

Nemtajela had also attracted interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United but Pirates have moved with speed to tie up a deal to beat their PSL rivals to the central midfielder’s signature.

The 23-year-old can play as a deep-lying midfielder or box-to-box which offer Pirates another dynamic in the middle of the pack and he will also offer competition to Thalente Mbatha and Mkhehleni Makhaula, who have been the preferred midfield two under Riveiro, while Goodman Mosele, Selaelo Rasebotja, Camren Dansin and Simphiwe Selepe are the other options.

Nemtajela has made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring a goal and providing an assist in a Gallants team that has improved since the turn of the year, reaching the Nedbank Cup semi-final, and in with a chance of finishing in the top eight heading into the final game of the season.
