Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has now shed light on the alleged fight that broke up between the teams a couple of days ago.
The Brazilians were away in Angola to face the hosts in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. Despite their push for an away goal, it ended goalless ahead of the second leg to be played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
A win of any kind will favour Masandawana, but any scoring draw or a win for the visitors will see them grab a ticket for the group stage.
Ahead of the second leg, the former Esperance coach explained the alleged physical altercation after the game. He insists the issue was blown out of proportion and reported things aren’t factual.
Football has a lot of emotions

“There are two things that I can say. Small things can become big things when you give it too much attention. I think that [occurrence] had too much attention to what really happened. The second one is that we were very well received and we were taken care of very well, even to the last moment we took our flight back home,” Cardoso responded when asked about it.
“The two teams had a good relationship, and we are still establishing a good relationship in terms of how people connect.
“So football has to do with a lot of emotions; there were a lot of emotions. Sometimes the emotions break out, and we have already overcome that, and for sure it will be a beautiful match on Friday between people who respect each other. We will welcome the people from Wiliete very well.

“I spoke to the coach before the press conference after the match and we had an absolute normal talk and we hope that this time there won’t be extra energy from both sides rather than in the pitch because that’s where that team has to fight each other. Let’s not make noise over things that are very small. There are so many things that happen in football that we don’t speak about,” he concluded.
