Miguel lauds Sirino & explains what being foreigners at Chiefs mean

Kaizer Chiefs have won their first two Premier Soccer League games of the season for the first time in five years.

Among the players who have made a huge impact on the Glamour Boys is the Angola international Inacio Miguel and South American Gaston Sirino. The former has been a rock at the back and on Wednesday he was on target as the Soweto Giants defeated AmaZulu 3-1.

Sirino started his Chiefs journey with an assist in the 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants before assisting and scoring against AmaZulu in the most recent outing.

Sirino is a high-level player with creativity

Miguel sees a lot of potential from the 33-year-old Sirino and believes he will be one of the factors at the club.

“Sirino brings us a lot of experience you know, he’s a fantastic player, a high-level player as he has shown at Mamelodi Sundowns, he’s now proving at Kaizer Chiefs, that he brings many different things in the final third,” he told the media.

“A lot of creativity, like for example [against AmaZulu] some wouldn’t believe he would score but from nothing, he got this fantastic goal and with his quality pass he made a good assist, he will give a lot to this team to improve also.”

What are Miguel and Sirino bringing to Amakhosi?

The established and experienced defender insists foreigners at Chiefs have no option but to show why they have been brought by the management.

“It’s always normal as a foreign player you need to do more than the others because it’s not my country, I have to adapt to this country and prove why I was the chosen one, and the most important thing is to remain focused, the hard work you know,” the former Petro Atletico player added.

“That is what I tell the guys, there’s nothing more important than consistent and daily hard work, that will make the difference.”

Miguel and Sirino are expected to start the Premier Soccer League game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
