The former Orlando Pirates playmaker played all 90 minutes as his club bounced back from their 1-1 draw with Oud-Heverlee Leuven in empathic fashion with the South African international making his presence felt.
Having clawed their way back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 by the 74th minute, Mofokeng scored the fourth goal for Royale Union SG, heading home beautifully from inside the box from a cross.
Mofokeng shares mentality behind rare goal
It was a rare goal for a player not known for his prowess in the air as he is one of the smallest on the pitch but he says it was just about his mindset.
“It’s just on your mind, if the desire is there and the mentality is there, you’ll always get the goal,” said Mofokeng as per Pro League.
“I think I gave my best, but I just have to do more for my team because when the ball is high, I just have to compete for it.”
