Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabo Moloisane turned down a number of offers, including one from Saudi Arabia, to sign for the Glamour Boys, according to his agent.
Moloisane joined Chiefs ahead of this season as a free agent, after his deal with Stellenbosch FC had come to an end, with the Soweto giants looking at him to strengthen their defence.
The 27-year-old brings a wealth of experience and quality to Fernando da Cruz’s team and his agent Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse says he had a number of opportunities both locally and internationally to choose from but opted for Amakhosi.

“He is our good news stories because I am seeing my clients become family men,” Mathang-Tshabuse of PManagement Agency said on Metro FM.
“We were at his wedding last year with his beautiful wife and his son and now he gets to drive home and see him at bedtime so that is a story that is close to my heart.”
Agent on offers Moloisane turned down
Mathang-Tshabuse credits Chiefs for moving with speed to snap up the defender, whose head was briefly turned by an offer from Saudi, before he ultimately rejected it due to a key personal reason.
“He is at Kaizer Chiefs and they fought hard to have him there and he wanted to be there so he forsake other deals,” she added. “There was one international deal but it did not work for the family…in a similar jurisdiction to where Mohau Nkota is [Saudi].
“Also to be fair, it was not advancing in a way that we didn’t want it to and Kaizer Chiefs were faster.”

Moloisane made his debut for Chiefs last Saturday, when he started their blockbuster Premier Soccer League match against Mamelodi Sundowns which ended 1-1, playing 90 minutes.
Kaizer Chiefs defender backed to shine
That was after being left on the bench in their opening three games of the season and with tough competition for places in the squad, her agent feels the defender has what it takes to handle the pressure.

“Every new opportunity brings its challenges and I think he is alive to that,” she further stated.
“He is alive to the fact that this is an established team, it has a captain who has led it for a while and so he has to adapt to the Kaizer Chiefs style of play but that man is mature and he’s signed up for it.”
Moloisane will hope that his performance in a three-man defence won over Da Cruz to earn an extended stay in the team, starting with their next match away to Richards Bay on Wednesday, August 25.
