Moremi lauded after inspiring Pirates to CKO semis – ‘It’s fantastic, fantastic performances’

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is happy with the impact winger Tshepang Moremi is having on the team.

The attacker joined the Sea Robbers from AmaZulu at the beginning of the ongoing campaign after an impressive three-year stay, during which he played 83 games for them with a return of seven goals and as many assists.

The 25-year-old has been doing quite well at Bucs, where he is currently one of the most dangerous players in the final third.

On Tuesday, he was on target as the Sea Robbers registered a 2-1 win against Magesi FC to secure the Carling Knockout semi-final.

Moremi’s strike was his seventh in Bucs’ colours from 14 games across all competitions, with an assist also to his name. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has lauded his winger and underlined his importance in the team.

“It’s fantastic, fantastic performances since the beginning, I always said; people who work hard and believe in themselves, there is always a gift for them, and this guy you have seen he’s been working hard since the beginning,” Ouaddou told the media.

“Even you have seen, I think you followed the first steps in the team [when he was jeered], but he always believed in his qualities. Of course the technical staff was here to give him confidence and to guide him to keep working and give him confidence.

“So it’s not finished; we cannot say the work is finished, we still keep working with him in order for him to be the best, and get better every day. But he shows today again, a fantastic goal, I even went to celebrate with him,” Ouaddou concluded. 

After sealing progress in the Carling Knockout, Bucs will be in action on Saturday, where they will be away playing Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League outing.
