Mthethwa set to sign for PSL club following Pirates exit

Published on by Nkosiyabuya Sithole

Sandile Mthethwa, who recently parted ways with Orlando Pirates, is poised to join AmaZulu FC in the Betway Premiership, according to SABC Sport.

The mutual decision between Pirates and Mthethwa was made to allow the defender to seek a club where he can consistently secure playing time.

Mthethwa's limited opportunities at Pirates, due to stiff competition and the preference for other defenders, led to his departure.

Since joining Pirates in 2016, Mthethwa has faced challenges in establishing himself as a regular starter.

Loan spells at Chippa United and Richards Bay FC were aimed at gaining experience and improving his game.

Despite his 7-year stint at Pirates, Mthethwa managed only 21 appearances across all competitions. During his time at the club, he contributed to their MTN8 and Nedbank Cup triumphs.

MTHETHWA’S AGENT SPOTTED IN DURBAN

According to public broadcaster, Mthethwa’s agent Basia Michaels was recently spotted in Durban as Mthethwa’s move to AmaZulu seems imminent.
