Kaizer Chiefs tactician Nasreddine Nabi is convinced his winger Pule Mmodi has what it takes to deliver for Bafana Bafana, but must work on his finishing.
The 32-year-old attacker has been one of the team's key players in recent games. However, he has been missing some clear-cut chances in front of the goal. For instance, in the Premier Soccer League game against Magesi FC – played on Tuesday at the FNB Stadium, Mmodi failed to hit the target despite being put through on goal.
The winger has seven goals in 46 Chiefs matches since joining from Golden Arrows in July 2023, but Nabi believes Pule can deliver for the national team.
“About Pule, we work with him on finishing because we believe that if he improves on that, he's going to be a very good player. He's a player that gives you a lot of things; defensively, 1 vs 1, attacking [he's good]. It's a click, when it clicks, we believe that he can even be a starter at Bafana,” he told the media.
Has Blom flopped at Chiefs?

In the July transfer window, Njabulo Blom was among the new players who joined the Glamour Boys. He was signed for a season-long loan deal from the Major League Soccer side St. Louis City but has been blowing hot and cold.
He started against Magesi but was subbed after the first half, “I don’t want to judge the performances of one of my players, here we will look at different data and videos about his performance to try and find out why [he’s not playing as expected],” Nabi continued.
“We also believe he was not in his best condition today and was not his best performance today, we agree with that but we will take a look at it, using every tool that we have.”
Chiefs return to action on Saturday when they play Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final game.
