Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau has been consistently delivering at both club and international level.
In the concluded campaign, the 29-year-old South Africa international played 36 games across all competitions, scoring two goals in the process despite missing out at times owing to injuries.
His contributions saw Masandawana win the Premier Soccer League for the seventh consecutive time, and the inaugural African Football League.
Mudau was also a key player for Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana team that claimed bronze in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Teams want a piece of Mudau – ‘We have had interest'
Initially, former Premier League side Burnley – which is the home for Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster, had been linked with the energetic right-back.
Apparently, they are not the only team salivating for the services of the defender. Rumours have it that French Ligue 1 side RC Lens are among the teams interested in the Limpopo-born player.
His agency JDR Consulting has confirmed some teams are chasing their client, “We have had interest from France, we have had interest from England, [but] I can't tell you names of the clubs,” the agency told SNL24.
“But we don't have an official offer yet. So, there's been interest from France and England, but we don't have an official offer yet.”
Will Downs let Mudau leave?
The South African is still contracted to the Brazilians until June 30, 2025 meaning Downs may opt to stick with him if he refuses to extend the deal.
The PSL Champions have the Caf Champions League and African Football League to play coupled with four domestic competitions which puts coach Rhulani Mokwena in a precarious situation when it comes to releasing his key players.
It explains why the 37-year-old may find it hard to release one of his most trusted players.
Recently, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams agreed to extend his stay at the club, but there are ongoing conversations regarding the future of Teboho Mokoena who has been linked with a move abroad where the likes of Al Ahly and Bournemouth are reportedly interested.
Mokoena has two years remaining on his current deal with Sundowns.
