Last season, they suffered an early exit from the competition, losing in the second preliminary round at the hands of Jwaneng Galaxy.
They are back in it this season after finishing in the second position in the last campaign.

“We also know that for the past few seasons, we haven't started the season as good as we wanted to, so we'll be looking to rectify that. We want to start this season well,” Monyane told journalists as quoted by Soccer Laduma.
“We also want to retain our titles – the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup. We also want to add one more in the cabinet and make it a treble. Those are our ambitions, those are our goals for this season.
“We are looking forward to competing. We don't want to repeat the mistakes of last season, which we know what happened in the CAF space, we bowed out very early. We are looking forward to going all the way to get a second star.
“I will quote from my last interview: I'm not looking forward to leaving the club without a second star.
“We're looking forward to starting the season on a high note, as I said, and the rest will take care of itself because know what we are capable of.
“We know that we can finish the season strong, which is something that we've proved [in the past], so we're looking forward to being consistent throughout the season.
“Even if it's rough sometimes, we don't have to play beautiful football, as long as we grind out the results, get that 1-0. It's still a win and it's going to get you out there.”
