Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has been lauded by a Kaizer Chiefs youngster for being a key inspiration for him.

Sibisi has been relentless and shrugged off criticism to lead the Buccaneers to league and cup glory last season and the way he carries himself is now rubbing off positively on rival players.

Chiefs’ young defender Xolani Cossa, now on loan at Gomora United, after another loan in Botswana with Black Lions FC, admits he draws a lot of inspiration from the Pirates captain as he looks to make his career successful.

“I have seen the likes of Sibisi [Nkosinathi] from Orlando Pirates. That guy has given me much aspiration to say anything is possible. He once faced doubters in his career, and now he is showing them what he’s capable of,” Cossa told FARPost.

“I have been looking up to him, and I have learnt a thing or two from seeing him close by during friendlies we played as Gomora against Pirates. I got to see how he is handling the situation on the field.”

Ncikazi tipped to return as Bucs head coach

Mandla Ncikazi has been tipped to make a sensational return as head coach of Orlando Pirates in the near future.

Ncikazi left Pirates last week, having been serving as assistant to Abdeslam Ouaddou, to become the head coach of Golden Arrows.

He spent over five years at Pirates, first as co-coach, and then assistant to Jose Riveiro and Ouaddou. Former Pirates assistant coach Benson Mhlongo feels it will not be long before Ncikazi returns as the boss of the Buccaneers.

“Only Ncikazi knows why he decided to leave. It is difficult to read between the lines when a person says I’m going for greener pastures, especially when a coach says, ‘How can you kiss a person that you don’t like?'” Mhlongo told KickOff.

“Also, remember, as a coach you need to grow, like the likes of Rulani Mokoena have done. There comes a times when you need to use your own brain and perception. And being an assistant doesn’t allow you to do such.

“When you feel you have grown enough, it’s better to leave and go and start your own kraal, rather than to stay and start chaos.

“Ncikazi will come back as a head coach at Pirates one day. He joined Pirates from Arrows, a club that has looked after him for years. And now that they are in trouble he needs to go save them from being relegated.”
