Orlando Pirates have been excellent in the two thirds of the ongoing 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.
In the last three seasons, the Sea Robbers have finished second, behind Mamelodi Sundowns, in the race for the title. Ahead of the game against Siwelele on Saturday at the Orlando Amstel Arena, Bucs have managed to collect 47 points, the same as the defending champions who have an inferior goal difference.

However, while the Sea Robbers will be in action domestically, Masandawana are engaged in the CAF Champions League. On Friday, they beat Stade Malien 3-0 in the first leg of the quarter-final staged at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
This basically means a win for Pirates will open a three-point gap between them and the Brazilians. According to club’s legend Edward Motale, Sundowns will not catch them.
Orlando Pirates all the way?
“It’s a guaranteed three points. It won’t be easy, but Siwelele won’t beat Pirates [this weekend],” Motale told KickOff.
“I see Pirates winning all their remaining games. This confidence comes from the strong competition within the team. Every position has three capable players. Everyone is eager to win, and the team’s excellent combinations make that possible.

“I don’t concern myself with Sundowns; I know Pirates will win all their games. Pirates are playing excellent football , scoring, winning, and I have no doubt about their success,” he concluded.
The game between the two sides will start at 15h30 SAT.
