The South Africa international attacker continues to deliver for the Red Devils to underline his quality.
Percy Tau's Al Ahly claimed a 1-0 win over Smouha at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria to secure the Egyptian Premier League title.
The Red Devils came into the match knowing a win by any margin will see them successfully defend the league title. The Bafana Bafana international did not make the squad owing to fitness concerns.
When it hit the 90th minute without a goal, it seemed the match would end in a stalemate, however, it changed in the fifth minute of the added time. Omar Kamal managed to pick Mohamed Magdi Kafsha who made no mistake from a favourable angle.
What did Tau contribute?
The Thursday night win meant Al Ahly are guaranteed to finish above Pyramids FC even if they lose the remaining matches. It is their 44th league triumph for the Red Devils which guarantees them another chance to dine with the big boys in the 2024/25 Caf Champions League.
Despite his struggles with injuries, Tau played 10 league games for Al Ahly with a good record of seven goals.
It explains why the Egyptians are rating the South African highly despite rumours that some Middle East teams are chasing his services. Kaizer Chiefs have also been linked to the experienced attacker.
How many titles has Tau won with Al Ahly?
