Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu will face each other on Tuesday night in the Premier Soccer League assignment that will be staged at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
This is a critical fixture where the winner will go top of the table, ahead of current leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have a superior goal difference as opposed to second-placed Bucs.
Usuthu have collected 30 points from 16 matches, two more than the Sea Robbers and one game more than Masandawana. They are fourth despite having the same number of point as Kaizer Chiefs who have favourable goal difference.
This is a crucial game for the Soweto giants who have not lost any of their last 12 PSL games.
Bucs Stars warned against underrating their opponent
“Pirates will be determined to continue their dominance over their hosts, having gone over a decade since they last suffered defeat in the fixture. Since going down 1-0 at the start of the 2013/14 season, the Buccaneers have gone on their longest ongoing unbeaten streak against a current Premiership team,” Bucs confirmed in their preview.
“They have faced Usuthu 19 times since their last defeat, winning nine games and drawing 10. The KwaZulu-Natal outfit has however proven to be a tough nut to crack on their own turf where they have held the Soweto Giants to seven of the 10 stalemates, including one in the most recent fixture between the two sides,” they added.

The Sea Robbers’ assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has warned against underrating Usuthu, “It’s a short turn around, we have to be prepared against a back three, against a top four side that plays very well,” he told club’s media team.
“But we there to get points and we have prepared for such,” he concluded.
