Pitso vs Rulani rivalry in the offing? Moroccan giants eye Mosimane

Pitso Mosimane could end up taking on one of his students Rulani Mokwena following reports that Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca have put him on the list of candidates for their next coach.

Raja are looking for a new coach after sacking Belgian-Bosnian tactician Rusmir Cviko just three games into the new season, after losing two matches, and are considering a number of names with Mosimane reportedly among them.

According to Winwin.com, the Morocco champions want a coach with extensive experience on the continent and one who has managed a team in the Champions League as well as working in North Africa.

Why is Mosimane ideal for Raja Casablanca?

That means Mosimane ticks the boxes as he has won three Champions League titles, one with Mamelodi Sundowns, and two with Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

However, whether ‘Jingles’ is prepared to go back to North Africa is still not known after he recently revealed his preference for a role as national team coach.

The veteran tactician has been without a job after leaving Saudi club Abha in June when he failed to save them from relegation.

‘Jingles’ could face off with his student Mokwena

If he agrees to take over at Raja, he would be on a collision course with his former assistant at Sundowns Mokwena, who is now the coach of rivals Wydad Athletic Club.

Raja and Wydad have had numerous battles for supremacy in Morocco over the years although the latter fell off last season to finish sixth before Mokwena was brought in to return them to the top.
