“One of the best Bucs coaches in recent history. Massive loss for the club and SA football at large.”

-@TieOnto

“Sad but this is football, coaches come and go, Jose has engraved his name in our hearts. We will always love him, he built a strong team of young players, the work would be easy for the next coach. We hope it would be Pitso but we trust our management to find another Jose, we did not know him.”

“The last time I felt like this it was the death of Senzo Meyiwa….Riviero can't be doing this.”

“I'd also run away from @Masandawana. They proclaimed “League or Death” but he was competing with a point machine [Sundowns]. When he got that 4-1 at Loftus, he decided enough is enough, he couldn't take the abuse.” – @mevikd

“The timing of the announcement was not a smart move indeed. Could at least have kept it between the team and the management instead till the end of the season.” – @MtshaliKhekhzin

“This statement and its timing has just derailed the team. I wish they prove me wrong but the players are probably going to switch off and think of the future. I see all three cups gone but have hope and faith in the coach and players. We wish him well. Thank you, Elpadre.” -@DLADLA24

“Timing of this announcement is questionable, you are playing crucial CAF games and league matches then boom, coach is leaving.” -@MrQuarantines
