A PSL club has announced the acquisition of former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates players to strengthen its squad for the 2024/25 season.

As the deadline for the PSL transfer window approaches, teams are making final efforts to bolster their squads ahead of the Betway Premiership commencement this month.

Marumo Gallants, which acquired the status of Moroka Swallows, have been actively working to reduce their team from 48 players to 33.

There was a select group that came from the Dube Birds and those that were part of Gallants in the second-tier.

Despite that the club still welcomed trialists, with the technical team building a team that will be capable of competing in the top-flight.

Former Amakhosi winger Kamohelo Mahlatsi and erstwhile Buccaneers midfielder Xola Mlambo are among the new additions to Bahlabane Ba Ntwa squad.

FORMER CHIEFS & PIRATES PLAYERS JOIN MARUMO GALLANTS

“We have signed Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Xola Mlambo already, we just need to make a formal announcement,” Malesela said at the Betway Premiership launch on Tuesday.

Mahlatsi’s last stint in the Premiership was at Chippa United where he stayed for six months only, having joined the club in January.

Meanwhile, Mlambo spent the entirety of the last season without a club following his exit from TS Galaxy in July 2022.

Gallants have also acquired the services of Daniel Msendami, Phathutshedzo Nange, Rewaldo Prins, Mbulelo Wagaba, Washington Arubi, Tshepo Rikhotso, and Mpho Chabatsane.

Malesela has indicated that there are ongoing plans to further reduce the squad size in order to establish a more manageable team.
