The details of Iqraam Rayners' contract with Mamelodi Sundowns have been disclosed following his transfer from Stellenbosch FC.

According to the reports, the striker is set to be unveiled as the club’s fifth signing this week having already traveled to Pretoria on Monday.

The 28-year-old forward will join Arthur de Oliveira Sales, Kabomelo Kodisang, Kegan Johannes and Asekho Tiwani who also signed for the Brazilians in this transfer window.

The most recent campaign can arguably be considered Rayners' finest season since his debut in the PSL. He netted 17 goals and contributed four assists over the course of 39 matches in all competitions.

He also returned to Bafana Bafana as he was selected for friendlies against Andorra and Algeria and FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

As per to KickOff, Rayners will pen a five-year deal with Masandawana which includes options.

When asked this past weekend, the Brazilians head coach Manqoba Mngqithi confirmed that the club would welcome Rayners ahead of this season, saying he would be a major boost for them in the CAF Champions League.

WHAT MNGQITHI SAID ABOUT RAYNERS?

“As for Iqraam, we are happy to have him because he will add something to the club,” said Mngqithi.

“I’m looking at him more for the Champions League than in the PSL.

“In as much as will help us in the PSL, I think in the Champions League, he will really give us something more.”

With Sundowns set to meet Stellenbosch in the MTN8 semifinal, Rayners might play his first game for the Brazilians against his former side.

“And on the issue of Iqraam by the way it will be nice to have him,” he added.
