Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng, a highly sought-after talent, has been linked with several top clubs, including Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The 20-year-old has been a key contributor to the Sea Robbers since his promotion to the senior team in the 2022/23 season.
Mofokeng has previously attracted interest from prominent European clubs such as FC Barcelona B, Rangers, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Recent reports have suggested that Al Ahly are closely monitoring his progress. However, a respected Egyptian journalist, Khaled Al-Ghandour, recently conducted inquiries with the club regarding their interest in Mofokeng.
Al-Ghandour revealed that Al Ahly denied any communication with the player or his representatives.
TRUTH ABOUT MOFOKENG-AL AHLY LINKS
“We contacted officials at Al Ahly and asked them about the truth regarding negotiations with the two players, heanacho, the Sevilla striker, and Relebohile Mofokeng, the Orlando Pirates' South African striker,” he said.
“The source confirmed that there was indeed communication with heanacho's agent to gauge his stance on joining Al Ahly, but there was no official offer, and the player's financial demands are very high.
“As for Relebohile Mofokeng, there are no negotiations with the player, no communication has taken place, and he was only recommended by agents.”
