Tuesday night was a historic evening at the Orlando Stadium as Orlando Pirates defeated Richards Bay 1-0 thanks to Evidence Makgopa's strike.

The win was the Buccaneers' seventh in a row, the first time the Soweto giants have collected maximum points in as many games consecutively.

Coach Jose Riveiro was coaching his 100th game at the club since taking over at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign. Have a look at what the fans said after the massive win that extended their lead on top of their table.

Jose Riveiro is well on track to become the greatest coach in the history of the club – Malwandla

Oh, Lord Jose Riveiro! We see what you are cooking in Orlando Pirate and Orlando Stadium, what a coach and what a team he has created – Samy Ben

Riveiro only needs to win the Premier Soccer League, and then he will be the best coach Orlando Pirates have ever had –  Precilia.N

A 61% win rate is a magnificent feat, has there ever been a coach to achieve this at Pirates? – Thopzin

Now we can loan Riveiro to our neighbours Kaizer Chiefs for only 50 games to help remove the dust from their trophy cabinet – Benson

Goalkeeper Ian Otieno was hard to beat but we managed to get three points. This is how you win the league in tough times; you still find a way to win. Congratulations boys – Dash Dolla Morrison Nqubezelo

I'm glad we're building momentum but we should be hammering these teams. Too many chances not being converted will haunt us in crunch games. We should be fine-tuning these things here & not walking away 1-0 winners at home – Mpendulo Mtshali

This Patrick Maswanganyi ‘Tito' must play 60 minutes and be substituted. This guy has lost possession of the ball so many times today – Dikgang Legoase

Even Mamelodi Sundowns fans are singing Tito chant now – Thabiso Geeh

Very impressive from the boys, sometimes we don't need much, just a goal, we defend it, and we win the game and collect 3 points. Let our boys rest during the FIFA break so we come back stronger – Jabulani Silence
