Departing Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has spoken out on what’s next after the Buccaneers played their last game under his leadership.
Riveiro, known as ‘The Spanish Guitar', joined Pirates in 2022 and leaves having clinched five domestic trophies during his tenure – three MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cups.
His time at the club concluded perfectly as the Buccaneers downed Golden Arrows 3-0 in their Betway Premiership match at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Reports widely suggest Riveiro's next move will be to Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, stepping in for Marcel Koller, who was dismissed following their CAF Champions League exit.
Despite the strong anticipation of an official announcement, Riveiro himself maintains he cannot yet announce his next destination, leaving that responsibility to his new employers.

RIVEIRO SAYS HE’LL BE ANNOUNCED BY HIS NEXT CLUB VERY SOON
“I wish but I can [announce]. There is things of confidentiality and stuff like that, it’s not me the one who has the responsibility to announce,” he told SuperSport TV as quoted by iDiski Times.
“But it’s going to be very soon. I think that everybody will be understandable and hopefully happy for me and wishing me all the best.”
Meanwhile, Riveiro also sent a message to the ‘Happy People’, saying “They have to understand the type of players we have in the team, how young they are and they must help them to have a bright future.”
“They must be patient with them, they have to be supportive with them as well as with the new coach, whoever is coming is coming with the intention to help the team go to the next level, to help the team go forward, to help the players to become better players and it’s important that the fans also having a decent amount of patience with him because he’s gonna need it.”
