Morena Ramoreboli is poised to leave Jwaneng Galaxy amicably as he moves closer to securing the head coaching position for the Botswana national team, according to FARPost.
Ramoreboli's tenure with Galaxy, which began in 2021, was marked by significant achievements, including two league titles and two CAF Champions League group stage berths.
He also led the Zebras to their second-ever AFCON finals appearance.
The 43-year-old stepped in as interim Zebras coach in October 2024 following Didier Gomes da Rosa's resignation. Despite a tough qualification campaign, Ramoreboli steered the team to crucial draws against Mauritania and Egypt, securing their spot in the 2025 AFCON finals.
The report added that the Botswana Football Association (BFA) is now finalizing his permanent contract. Ramoreboli recently indicated that he had discussed the potential national team role with Galaxy's management, who offered their support.
WHAT RAMOREBOLI RECENTLY SAID ABOUT HIS GALAXY FUTURE
“I had several meetings with my bosses [Jwaneng Galaxy],” he told SuperSport.
“And to some extent, they were saying they would be very happy to see me leaving, whether to go to the national team or to go to a club that is bigger than them and the club that will take care of the talent that I have.
“But at the same time, they are also saying it should be for the right reasons. They have always been supportive of me. And this is not about being loyal but about being honest about situations…”
