Mamelodi Sundowns return to domestic action for their last fixture of the year as they travel to the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium for a midweek clash against Siwelele FC on Wednesday night.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30, live on SuperSport TV, as Sundowns look to close the year with a statement performance.
Fresh from CAF Champions League duty over the weekend, Masandawana have had little time to recover and prepare. Defender Aubrey Modiba admitted the quick turnaround has been challenging but says the team is ready to finish the year on a high.
“It’s good to be back in the country. It was a long trip with so many hours in the air and on the road. It’s Champions League and you have to do what needs to be done. We are now back and focusing on the next game which is a league game,” Modiba said.
A Tough Test Awaits
Modiba expects a stern challenge from Siwelele, who have shown resilience in the PSL this season. He stressed that previous results will count for little as both sides battle for three crucial points.
“We are expecting a tough game against a tough team. Things are tough now in the PSL as teams are doing extremely well. We are ready for the test and we will not focus a lot on previous results. We have prepared well for that game in order for us to take all the three points but it’s not going to be easy.”
Yellow Nation Called to Rally
Modiba concluded by urging Sundowns supporters to come out in numbers for the team’s final match of 2025.
“We would like to encourage the Yellow Nation to come out in numbers to support us in our last game of the year. It will be a nice game to watch and we will make sure to do a great job on the field and make them happy.”
