Mamelodi Sundowns newly appointed coach Miguel Cardoso has made comments on the work done by previous coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
The Portuguese coach has begun his tenure with a high note. He guided the team to two wins in a row in two matches they have played since his appointment.
The Brazilians downed Raja Casablanca 1-0 in the CAF Champions League group stage clash. They also defeated Stellenbosch FC 1-0 in the Betway Premiership match.
Asked where he’d want to improve the team, Cardoso said he didn’t want to make drastic changes from the “good work” that was done by Mngqithi.
However, he feels the team needed just a few adjustments in order for them to click.
MIGUEL CARDOSO SAYS SUNDOWNS NEEDED A FEW ADJUSTMENTS
“It is important to pick the team from where it was and not drastically change things, otherwise, you can create discomfort,” he continued.
“So gradually, with small details, we are trying to move the team forward with a lot of respect by the work that was done by coach Manqoba before us.
“And just moving forward from the point where it was so no breaks and sudden changes on the team, otherwise, probably the discomfort would be too big and the work would not be productive.
“And now from here, we gradually improve ourselves.”
