Mamelodi Sundowns continued their winning run in the Betway Premiership with a 2-0 victory over Richards Bay at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

Miguel Cardoso, appointed head coach recently, has now secured four consecutive victories across all competitions, each achieved by a narrow 1-0 margin against Raja AC, Stellenbosch FC, AmaZulu, and now Richards Bay.

Since their solitary defeat to Polokwane City, Sundowns have displayed remarkable consistency in the league, scoring 12 goals without conceding in six matches.

SALES RATTLES BACK OF THE NET

Arthur Sales, a record R65-million signing who has faced scrutiny, finally scored his first open-play goal, finishing off a pass from fellow Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro Costa in the first half.

Despite a spirited performance from Richards Bay, Sundowns controlled the game without needing to exert maximum effort.

Cardoso rotated his starting XI, prioritising squad management ahead of a busy January schedule.

The victory extends Sundowns' lead to six points over Orlando Pirates, who have two games in hand and face Magesi in Polokwane on Sunday.
