Recently, Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed the exit of former Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch.
The versatile midfielder had joined the reigning Premier Soccer League champions mid 2023/24 season when Rulani Mokwena was still in charge. However, upon his exit, ‘Nyoso' – as he is commonly referred to, was reduced to surplus to requirements by his successors Manqoba Mngqithi, and later Miguel Cardoso.

Lorch finds a new home
A section of Masandawana fines must have thought that Lorch will be given a chance at Sundowns but it wasn't the case.
Wydad Casablanca wanted to permanently sign him, but were almost put off with a $1 million put on him by the South African heavyweights. However, after extended negotiations, the involved parties reached an agreement and Lorch, eventually, left for the Moroccan outfit.
On Friday night, Wydad confirmed the signing of Lorch to continue his journey in North Africa; the parties have reportedly agreed on an initial two-year deal. His main work will be to help the team deliver domestiucally and in the continent where they will be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
After finishing third in the 2024/25 season, more will be expected from the technical team and the players.
