SuperSport announce technical team addition after Gavin Hunt’s exit

Published on by

Just days after Gavin Hunt's departure from SuperSport United was announced, the club confirmed the appointment of former captain Onismor Bhasera to their technical team.

Hunt's second spell at the helm included 97 matches with 36 wins, but a recent downturn in form saw the team slip into a playoff position, ultimately leading to his exit shortly after his 1000th senior coaching game.

Bhasera, who departed the club at the end of the previous season, now returns in a coaching capacity.

He joins interim coach Andre Arendse and assistant coach and goalkeeper coach Grant Johnson.

“Onismor Bhasera returns to help guide the team forward as part of Andre Arendse and Grant Johnson’s technical team,” a statement read.

“Welcome back, Bash! Your experience and passion for the game will be key for the road ahead!”

Bhasera joined SuperSport in 2016 from Bidvest Wits and has been with the side in playing capacity for 10 years.
