‘Talent is an understatement – Rele Mofokeng is a gift’, says Ex-Pirates star

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabang Monare has lauded the exceptional talent of Buccaneers' young prospect Relebohile Mofokeng, whose impressive performances continue to garner attention.

Monare, who spent his final season with the Sea Robbers alongside Mofokeng before his contract expired, witnessed the youngster's development firsthand.

Last season, Mofokeng's outstanding displays earned him both the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season and the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player awards.

Monare believes Mofokeng's talent transcends natural ability, asserting that a move to Europe should be the 20-year-old's next career progression.

MONARE SAYS MOFOKENG’S TALENT IS BEYOND NATURAL

“You have no idea. You have no idea but I’d say talent is an understatement – Rele is a gift,” Monare told

“As soon as he stepped on the field and I watched him train with us I knew that there is no stopping him. He is natural. He is just like that.

“Whatever he has no one taught him, that’s all he knows. He was born like that. I think he is at the right club, he has the right coach and I think that’s why he is getting better every single game.

“And now that he is in the national team and he is doing well, you know the next step could be Europe, a big club in Europe. I’m really proud of that man, very proud.”
