The Stellies climbed the winners’ podium again after an unblemished record in the UK

PSL reserve league champions Stellenbosch FC have won the 2024 Premier League Next Generation Cup following a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The PSL Reserve League known as DStv Diski Challenge champions had a flawless tournament in the United Kingdom where they won all their four matches without conceding and the final was another example of their dominance.

Stellenbosch captain Shaakir Ahmed opened the scoring for the South African side before setting up team-mate Kyle Bailey for the second goal for their second victory over the North London team.

Stellenbosch floored all their UK opponents

The Stellies had recorded three straight 1-0 wins en route to the final, having started with a victory against Spurs before handing Aston Villa a similar defeat.

They topped their group after silencing another London side in Crystal Palace before meeting Tottenham yet again in the final.

It is the second time Stellenbosch have claimed the Premier League Next Generation Cup, having first tasted victory in their debut in 2022.

Stellenbosch featured at the tournament last year but lost to Wolves on post-match penalties in India.
