Former Bafana Bafana star Jabu Mahlangu has hit out at fellow pundits Benedict “Tso” Vilakazi and Junior Khanye, accusing them of disrespecting national team coach Hugo Broos with their relentless calls for his dismissal.

The outspoken Mahlangu didn’t mince his words, labeling the tone of their commentary as negative and damaging to the progress of South African football. He made it clear that he was disappointed by Tso’s remarks, which he believes encourage unnecessary instability around the national team.

“Prove Yourself Before Criticizing”

Mahlangu went a step further, challenging Tso to back up his opinions with action.

“If you think you know better, go coach a team, even in the lower divisions. Show us what you can do on the pitch, not just in the studio,” Mahlangu said, throwing down the gauntlet to his former teammate.

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder also addressed misconceptions about coaches stepping away from roles, stressing the difference between retiring and leaving.

“Leaving a national team job doesn’t mean you’re finished or incompetent. It’s about shifting focus, not giving up,” he explained, defending Broos’s credentials amid growing criticism.

Mahlangu urged analysts to move away from destructive commentary and instead offer solutions that build the game.

“If you love South African football, help it grow. Don’t just tear down those who are trying. Real experts roll up their sleeves and work from the bottom up,” he added.
