Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has praised the depth and quality of his squad after extending his perfect start to four wins in four games.

Sundowns secured their latest victory with a 2-0 triumph over Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, thanks to goals from Artur Sales and Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

Since Cardoso's appointment, Masandawana have been a fortress, scoring five goals and maintaining a clean sheet in all four matches.

This impressive run has propelled them to the top of the league table, six points ahead of Orlando Pirates, even though they have played two more games.

CARDOSO’S THOUGHTS ON SUNDOWNS AFTER DEFEATING RICHARDS BAY

“Tough game, happy with the result, the satisfaction of watching our fans happy, the work the players did, but very difficult conditions to play,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV.

“The pitch was very dry. There were many moments we wanted to play but difficult to play [the ball] but we had the attitude, the patience, the quality in certain moments to define the game, it’s important to do this, use moments.

“Obviously we can do better but praise the players for the efforts, the commitment, for the attitude and for the courage to keep on playing in very difficult conditions.”
