Mamelodi Sundowns’ ambitions to win all available cups will be put to test when they host Golden Arrows in the Carling Knockout quarter-final on Tuesday.

Sundowns, who suffered a shock early exit from the CAF Champions League, have already won the African-Asian-Pacific Cup and MTN8 while the Carling Knockout is now an important trophy before they face Algerian side USM Alger in the CAF Super Cup on Sunday.

The Carling Knockout clash has been brought forward owing the CAF Super Cup and Sundowns have an opportunity to book an early semi-final ticket if they can avoid a shock result against Arrows.

Arrows made it to the quarter-final after thrashing Chippa United 4-0 in what was coach Mandla Ncikazi’s first match in charge but he oversaw a 1-0 loss to AmaZulu in the league and will therefore be looking to bounce back.

It is, however, a tough match for Arrows, who have played Sundowns three times already this season, winning one and losing twice. Sundowns made it to the Carling Knockout quarter-final after beating Marumo Gallants 1-0.

With a record of six losses, two wins and as many draws against Sundowns, Arrows have their work cut out against Miguel Cardoso’s side who come into the game on the back of a 4-1 thrashing of Durban City last weekend.
