A former Orlando Pirates coach believes that Bafana Bafana is poised to secure all six available points from their upcoming two qualifiers, a result that would solidify their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The national team will first face Lesotho this Friday, September 5th, in a crucial home fixture. They will then travel for what is expected to be a highly competitive and eagerly anticipated showdown against their long-standing rivals, Nigeria, on Tuesday, September 9th.
The coach's confidence suggests a strong belief in the team's current form and their ability to perform under pressure in these pivotal matches.

‘WE HAVE A STRONG TEAM’
“The majority of the players Hugo Broos has called up were part of the previous team, and I believe the new faces have been chosen based on their performances, like Kamogelo Sebelebele, who has scored three goals,” said Augusto Palacios.
“This selection encourages players in the local league, showing that if you perform well at the club level, you will have the chance to represent the national team.
“I believe the coach has made the right choices, as he always does. The PSL players should understand that in the national team, they need to double their efforts. They must perform at 200% instead of just 100%.
“Looking at this final 23-man squad, I am confident we have a strong team. For instance, Khuliso Mudau isn't playing at (Mamelodi) Sundowns, so he couldn't be selected. Broos' approach is commendable because he picks players who are in form. This motivates all players in the PSL to keep performing well. We still have great players.
“This team can collect all six points against Lesotho and Nigeria next week without any difficulties.”
