Kaizer Chiefs continue their CAF Confederation Cup journey on Sunday, away to the Zambian heavyweights ZESCO United, hoping to get maximum points to stand a chance of making the next phase.
This will be the second assignment for the Glamour Boys this year after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) break.
It is a vital fixture for either side as they continue chasing Egyptian duo Al Masry and Zamalek SC.

In the head-to-head record, this is the first time the two teams are meeting in the CAF Confederation Cup since 2019. ZESCO won at home 3-1 before claiming another 2-1 victory away.
What they said
“Kaizer Chiefs, I think, has been a customer of ZESCO. We can do a double, because what we need to do is win them home and away so that we are back in the race.
“They are very bitter. ZESCO has the character to turn the tables against Kaizer Chiefs. So, I’m just appealing to the fans to come in numbers – Kelvin Mutafu, ZESCO United CEO.

“It’s still January, we need to take game by game, stay in that park because everywhere the league is decided in April or beginning of May. But we know that we’re going to compete game by game. And now we’re going to focus on our next Confederation Cup game.
“There’s a lot of things that can happen from now on to May. But we know what we want and with the squad we have, we will compete on every game,” – Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze.
