The Soweto giants have agreed to shell out a huge sum for the highly-rated player
Kaizer Chiefs reportedly agreed to pay R6 million for defender Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs.
Cape Town Spurs confirmed the departure of the player on Thursday, effectively letting the cat out of the bag, even as Chiefs keep their transfer business secret, and the 24-year-old is set to be coach Nasreddine Nabi’s third signing.
Chiefs’ big offer was too good to turn down
According to Soccer Laduma, the deal was too good to turn down when Chiefs agreed to pay the huge fee which will boost their coffers as they look for replacements.
The Soweto giants have gone about their business quietly after announcing that their new signings will be unveiled on July 28 but the player will link up with the club early.
Dortley is set to be Amakhosi’s third signing
Amakhosi are looking to strengthen in key areas and have already brought in goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy, who is viewed as the long-term replacement for club legend Itumeleng Khune, while defender Bongani Sam has agreed to cross over from Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates.
Nabi and his team have intensified their preparations ahead of the new season with his first official match scheduled for Saturday against newly-promoted Qatar Stars League side Al Shahaniya SC in Istanbul.
