Ashley Du Preez reveals talk with Nabi

Kaizer Chiefs forward Ashley Du Preez has opened up about a conversation he had with head coach Nasreddine Nabi

Despite not securing a starting spot under the Tunisian tactician, Du Preez remains optimistic and determined to contribute to the team's success.

The talented forward has made six substitute appearances so far this season. However, he insists that his lack of starts hasn't dampened his spirits.

“I've been setting targets as a player,” the winger-cum-striker said.

“You have to do that despite things not going your way. You still have to push yourself and set targets. For me not playing regularly, like last season, I'm not letting that come [get] to me and let me down.

“I've always been working hard and trying to get myself in the starting XI, and obviously, when I get minutes, when I come in from the bench, I'm there to help the team win a game.”

Du Preez says Nabi has had a talk with him, explaining what he wants from him and how he wants him to play.

‘THE COACH HAS EXPLAINED TO ME’

“Yes, the coach has explained to me what he wants from me and how he would like me to play,” he added.

“So, at the end of the day, it's the coach's decision to put out the starting line-up and who's going to win for the team.

“I'm just working on improving day by day, every week.”
