The Lion of Judah was on target as he came back to action after nearly a month

Percy Tau made a scoring return to Al Ahly after nearly one month out with an injury as he netted the winner in their 2-1 victory against Modern Future on Tuesday.

Tau was a second half substitute for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League match in which the Red Devils had to come from behind to win.

The Bafana Bafana forward scored through a beautiful header in the 62nd minute to give Al Ahly the lead which they held on to claim all three points.

Tau showed great awareness to head in the winner

Substitute Reda Slim brought in a good ball from a corner and with Tau positioned in the box, he connected well with it to head low in the bottom right corner for 2-1.

Al Ahly had been pegged back early when Arnold Tchebegna gave Future a 26th minute lead but the Cairo Red Devils responded with the equaliser on the stroke of halftime through Emam Ashour.

Coach Marcell Koller then sought to freshen up things in attack and brought on Tau, who was making his comeback since June.

Lion of Judah’s return is a major boost for Al Ahly

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star wasted no time to make his presence felt with the goal that earned them all three points.

Tau has been out since sustaining a hamstring injury while on international duty in June when he sat out Bafana Bafana’s 3-1 victory against Zimbabwe in Bloemfontein.

His return is a boost for Al Ahly who are bidding to defend their league crown as they sit second on the log with 63 points, five behind leaders Pyramids, but with three games in hand.
