Forget Bafana Bafana’s draw with Panama! Chiefs legend Khune sees 4-0 win but in favour of who?

Bafana Bafana failed to capitalise on the many chances they created against Panama on Friday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Both teams were using the fixture to prepare for the 2026 FIFI World Cup to be held jointly by the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11. The hosts were impressive but failed to capitalise on the many chances that they created.

Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis could have done better when one-on-one, but while the former ended without a goal, after the break, the Orlando Pirates star cancelled the visitors’ strike, converted by Edgar Barcenas in the first half.

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune is convinced South Africa will claim a 4-0 victory on Tuesday at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

Khune explains why Bafana Bafana will beat Panama 4-0

“Remember Panama only got two chances from Bafana Bafana mistakes – one they scored and the other one hit the post,” Khune said during his analysis on SABC 3.

“Without those chances, they didn’t create anything.

“So Bafana Bafana deserves to win easily on Tuesday by four goals to zero,” the ex-Amakhosi star added.

Why win over Panama will be vital for Bafana Bafana

With the World Cup coming in the next two months or so, Khune explains why victory will be vital for Hugo Broos’ men.

“A win will make the nation proud because it’s the last preparation match before the big World Cup – there are no other preparation matches in between.

“So the players better take good care of themselves, leading into the World Cup. They’re gonna need when they get there, different altitude, different weather conditions – so they need to prepare themselves very well mentally, physically and emotionally,” the legendary custodian concluded.
