“Kaizer Chiefs have re-engaged Stellenbosch FC in talks over a potential multi-million Rand swap deal for midfielder Langelihle Phili, despite appearing to have abandoned the pursuit weeks ago,” Soccer Laduma reported.
“The latest developments suggest Chiefs remain determined to land the 21-year-old winger, with discussions believed to be progressing positively behind the scenes.
“It’s true, they were offered players and money. It sounds like they’ve priced the player out of the market, even with the money and players offered to them. Having said that, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of the player going somewhere else during this transfer window.

“For now, the situation is that the player is highly unlikely to join Chiefs, and it looks like the club has given up on the player. So, I don’t know what’s next, but we will see,” they further reported, quoting an unnamed source.
Last season, Phili scored seven goals in 26 Premier Soccer League matches. Generally, he found the back of the net nine times in 39 outings across all competitions.
